November's Prompts and Submissions

Journal Entry: Sun Nov 1, 2009, 9:08 PM
What Is Simplypoetry?

*simplypoetry is the new sister project to *simplyprose, where poetry is the name of the game! *simplypoetry aims to provide a place on dA where poets can feature their poems without a selection process.

But there's a catch! *simplypoetry is more than just a place for people to pimp their work. We hope to generate new poetry on dA. For this reason, *simplypoetry will only feature poems that have been written for prompts that *simplypoetry has provided. These prompts will hopefully also serve as points of inspiration for those who want to write but just don't have the inspiration.

How Does It Work?

This is not a club. There is no joining process. How it works is simple:

Every month, a new journal entry will be put up with the month's prompts. There will be four types of prompts: a voice prompt, a form prompt, a word association prompt, and a miscellaneous prompt. You can write for a single prompt, or for any combination of prompts.

If you want to get involved, all you have to do is devwatch us, write some poems, and note us with a link to your submissions! That's it!

Daily Deviations
Please remember to alert *ThornyEnglishRose or =vix0r if a piece you have written for *simplypoetry is featured as a Daily Deviation. For now, the piece will simply be featured on our shoutboard. In the future, we may create a special feature of some kind for those very special pieces and their authors.

We at *simplypoetry will be looking for pieces that we feel are of high enough quality to suggest as a Daily Deviation, so there's an incentive for you!

November Prompts

Voice Prompt:
Someone who misses something really important because of a seemingly simple reason.

Form Prompt:

Remember All three pieces must be used in the poem for it to be accepted

Voice Prompt:

None yet. Be the first!

Form Prompt:

None yet. Be the first!

Word Association Prompt:

None yet. Be the first!

Miscellaneous Prompt:

None yet. Be the first!

I found the *simplyprose group and thought they were an awesome project, and now I've found one just like it aimed towards poetry! I'll definitely be watching and possibly submitting.
